The North City Neighborhood Association is one of 14 neighborhood associations in the city of Shoreline. Our volunteers help to create a sense of community by organizing social events, coordinating Shoreline Watch activities, implementing Neighborhood Mini-Grant projects, planning speakers, and sharing information through newsletters, websites and email.

May North City Meetup
This month's North City Meetup will be at the historic North City Lounge on 15th and 177th. We've moved the meetup event to the third Wednesday of each month. We will meet at the NC Lounge on May 20 and June 17, then rotate the venue to support different North City businesses.

Another Successful North City Cleanup Day

Last Saturday, May 9, with relatively short notice and little prompting on social media, a group of 20 North City neighbors showed up on a beautiful spring morning to help clean up in North City! We're grateful for the volunteer support and are excited to see how our community rallies for these types of events.
Locations included 15th Ave from 24th Ave NE all the way south to NE 170th. Going downhill from the business district, 180th and 175th from 15th to 5th Ave NE, and all along 5th was cleaned up as well. 12th Ave NE from 180th to 175th also got some much-needed attention, as did NE Serpentine Pl. Volunteers cleaned up over 20 bags of trash and an old La-Z-Boy recliner.
Piles were consolidated on 15th Ave NE and at a pile off of 5th on NE Serpentine Place. Big thanks also go out to the City of Shoreline for material support in the form of safety vests, work gloves, trash bags, and final pickup.

Shoreline Comes Together for North City Station!

Last month, a cleanup event was held at the site of the proposed North City Station. About 100 neighbors, recruited by the North City Neighborhood Association, Urbanist Shoreline, Salvation Artists & Makers Collective, and the City of Shoreline, joined forces for a work party that made a solid impression and a tangible improvement to the vacant site. The Shoreline Tool Library brought tools, equipment, and even more volunteers to help the effort.
