<p>On Wednesday May 7, the NCNA hosted a public meeting regarding traffic safety. <a href="../2025/04/speed-streets-safety">Speed, Streets, and Safety for All</a> was generously hosted by the <a href="https://northcitywater.org/">North City Water District</a> in their conference room. The event turnout was a success, with a nearly-full room of about 50 attendees. <a href="https://urbanistshoreline.org/">Urbanist Shoreline</a> was our partner in developing the event content and we thank Katie Lorah for her energy and enthusiasm.</p>

<p>The Stride Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project on SR 522 and NE 145th is the result of a grassroots coalition that advocated for better transit for north Lake Washington communities.</p> <p>The Stride S3 Line, or the SR 522/NE 145th BRT service, will connect north Lake Washington communities to the regional transit system with fast, frequent and reliable transit service. <p>The NE 195th street pedestrian overpass across I-5 will be closed for several weeks this Summer to facilitate the constructions of the <em>Lynnwood Link</em> light rail extension. The closure is scheduled to start on July 6 and expected to last roughly six weeks.</p> <p>The nearest alternate pedestrian routes across I-5 are at NE 185th and at NE 205th.</p>

<p><a class="reference external" href="http://shorelinewa.gov/nno">National Night Out</a> brings together communities and involves residents, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials. In 2018, more than 75 block parties were held in Shoreline.</p> <p>National Night Out is August 6, and it is never too early to start planning your block party.</p> <div class="admonition important"> <p class="first admonition-title">Important</p> <p class="last">The deadline to apply for road closure permits is Tuesday, July 23.</p> </div>

<p>The <a class="reference external" href="http://www.shorelinefarmersmarket.org/">Shoreline Farmers Market</a> will be open Saturdays from June 8 through October 5, 10am–3pm at Shoreline Place near Central Market. The market features produce, flowers, food trucks, live music and more.</p> <p>Additionally, the <a class="reference external" href="https://www.dshs.wa.gov/esa/csd-mobile-office/mobile-community-services-office">DSHS Mobile Community Services Office</a> will be there on opening day with information about a variety of assistance programs.</p>
