185th Subarea Zoning Still in Play

Posted to News

Diane Hettrick has written a great article on the Shoreline Area News about the current state of the 185th Street Subarea zoning plans. Apparently much has changed recently, and there is growing momentum behind a plan to roll the zoning changes out in phases. (Read the article now.)

There is still time to provide your input, but final decisions will be made soon — the zoning changes are currently scheduled to be adopted onf February 23 — so speak up now!

A good place to make yourself heard would be at the city council meeting on February 9 where the 185th St zoning changes will be discussed. Also, you can call or email your city council members.

There is more information on the subarea plan on the city’s light rail planning page.

At the City Council meeting on February 9, the Council will review the Planning Commission recommendations and proposed phasing of zoning and development regulations for the 185th street station subarea.

This will be among the last opportunities for citizens to voice their input regarding the planned zoning changes. Since the zoning plans are still in flux, it is important that all who care make their opinions known.
