Posted on to Events (Updated )

When
Sunday, March 27,
Where
Shoreline City Hall Council Chambers
17500 Midvale Ave N
Shoreline, WA 98133

Please join Shoreline's Police Department, city officials, district educators and fellow residents in attending a public forum, “Sex Trafficking in King County.”

Hundreds of women and girls are sold for sex every night in King County. Join us this coming Tuesday 7pm at Shoreline City Hall to learn what’s being done and how you can help. Parents and teens are especially encouraged to come out.

The forum will begin with the presentation “Sex Trafficking in King County” by REST (Real Escape from the Sex Trade; description below). Q & A will follow with REST and Shoreline Police Department’s Liaison & Special Teams Officers and the City Prosecutor’s Office. Other local officials, community leaders, and district educators will be at the forum as well.

REST is an independent, Seattle-based 501c3 that provides pathways to freedom, safety, and hope for victims of sex trafficking and people involved in the sex trade. REST actively partners with Seattle's Vice Squad, Seatac, Kent, and Burien police officers, Businesses Ending Sex Trafficking (BEST), Organization for Prostitution Survivors (OPS), Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, and others.

This event is co-sponsored by Laura Lind and Officer Steven Perry (of the Shoreline Police Department.) If you have any questions about the forum, please feel free to contact Laura Lind. Hope to see many of you at City Hall 7pm this Tuesday night!

On the Future of Shoreline’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services

The North City Neighborhood Association invites you to a presentation and discussion of future directions for Shoreline’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.

The Shoreline Parks, Recreation and Cultural Service (PRCS) Department has begun an eighteen month planning process to update the PROS Plan, a document that creates a 20-year vision and serves as the framework for Shoreline’s recreation and cultural programs and park and open space facilities.

At our meeting, City staff will be on hand to provide a look at the past and discuss and listen to your input on future directions. What do you want your parks, recreation, and cultural services system to be, and what are you willing to support?

The meeting will start with a brief introduction on the North City Neighborhood Association — who we are, and what our plans are. The presentation by PRCS and discussion on the future of Shoreline’s parks will follow.
